đź’ś Career Well-being: Struggling to Get Noticed on LinkedIn?

Dear Thriving Introvert! In this newsletter, I'll cover:

  • Your LinkedIn Experience Section: Are You Making These Mistakes?
  • Laid Off or Worried About One? Read This Now
  • You're allowed to want more.

I've been reviewing LinkedIn profiles for years, and the two biggest mistakes people make on the experience section are these:

1 - They don't add any information besides their job title.

2 - They copy and paste whatever they have in their generic resume.

Besides your headline and skills section, your job titles and overall experience section are essential during a recruiter's search. The LinkedIn search uses those 3 places to pull keywords first, then everywhere else in your profile.

You must have a complete experience section with the right keywords to stand out and appear in searches.

🟣 Here's a little secret:

When you are typing your job title, ensure it's a title that's already on the LinkedIn database. For example, if you begin typing HR, you'll see many HR job titles.

If you have a funky title such as (Chief Happiness Officer), it won't likely show up as you begin typing that title.

🟣 Here's what you can do:

Find a title that would correspond with this one, and add this title after a bar or in parentheses. For example: Chief Wellness Officer (Chief Happiness Officer).

đź’ˇ Your LinkedIn Experience Section: Are You Making These Mistakes?

Your LinkedIn experience section isn’t just a job history—it’s a powerful tool to attract the right opportunities. If yours is just a copy-paste of your resume, you might be missing out on visibility and connections that could help you land your next role.

3 Mistakes That Could Be Hurting Your LinkedIn Profile:

❌ Using Resume-Style Bullet Points
LinkedIn allows for storytelling. Instead of listing duties, show impact.

✅ Better Approach: “Led a sales team that implemented a new outbound strategy, increasing regional revenue by 45%.”

❌ Ignoring Keyword Optimization
Recruiters search for candidates based on keywords. If your job titles and descriptions don’t match industry terms, you may not show up in searches.

✅ Better Approach: Instead of “Project Lead,” use “IT Project Manager | Agile & Scrum Expert.”

❌ Skipping Media & Achievements
LinkedIn is dynamic—don’t just describe your work; show it.

✅ Better Approach: Upload presentations, reports, or articles where you’ve been featured to build credibility.

Your experience section should work for you, not against you.

My latest article explains how to structure yours for maximum impact, including examples tailored to different career levels.

In case you missed last week's article, I discussed How to Prepare for a Layoff and Bounce Back Stronger. Layoffs are unpredictable. Most people wait until they need a job to start searching. That’s a mistake. Discover what to do if you suspect layoffs are coming, how to handle the news professionally, and the steps to bounce back quickly and land your next role.

đź’ś You're allowed to want more.

You're allowed to want more—without doing more.

More freedom. More balance. More fulfillment.

The answer isn’t always working harder or adding more to your plate.

Sometimes, it’s about stepping back, setting boundaries, and making room for what truly matters.

Success doesn’t have to come at the cost of your well-being.

You don’t have to prove your worth by burning out.

You’ve already done enough. 💜
